As CEO and co-founder of Blue J, I am committed to improving global tax systems through the responsible application of artificial intelligence. Blue J’s AI-powered tax research platform is trusted by more than 2,800 organizations worldwide, including Big Four accounting networks, CPA.com, CPA Canada, and leading enterprises, and processes millions of tax research queries annually. Our technology delivers instant, defensible answers to complex tax questions—helping professionals reclaim time for strategic work, reduce uncertainty, and serve clients at the highest standard.

My long-term mission is to build the operating layer for global tax cognition: an AI infrastructure that makes tax knowledge more accessible, accurate, and valuable for professionals, organizations, and policymakers. I believe augmenting human expertise with machine precision will enable the tax profession to meet society’s most demanding challenges with greater clarity and confidence.

In parallel, I am Professor and Osler Chair in Business Law at the University of Toronto, with a research focus on tax and artificial intelligence. I have authored or co-authored over 65 peer-reviewed publications and several books, including The Legal Singularity (AAP PROSE Award winner, Donner Prize finalist). I am also a faculty affiliate at the Vector Institute for Artificial Intelligence and the Schwartz Reisman Institute for Technology and Society. Early in my career, I earned an LL.M. from Yale Law School and clerked for Justice Louise Arbour at the Supreme Court of Canada.

My goal is to help create a world where tax professionals and decision-makers can rely on clear, accurate, and actionable insights—making the complexities of tax law more navigable for everyone.
