Derrick is a professional engineer turned management consultant and entrepreneur with over 12 years of experience in engineering, construction and B2B services. He is the founder and CEO of Rugged Robotics, a venture-backed startup developing intelligent automation for the commercial construction sector. Before Rugged, Derrick spent four years at Samsung Group headquarters in Seoul, S. Korea, where he served as an internal strategy consultant, leading multinational teams of top tier MBAs in tackling some of the Samsung’s largest challenges. He started his career in construction, as a fire protection engineer and building code consultant, specializing in large-scale commercial and institutional development.
