Trener Robotics is a Physical AI company building the intelligence layer for industrial robots. Headquartered in San Jose, California and Trondheim, Norway, we transform robots from rigid, scripted machines into intelligent, self-learning systems that operate reliably in real production environments. Our approach replaces traditional point-to-point programming with training rather than hard-coding, enabling greater flexibility and autonomy.

At the core of our platform is Acteris, a standard robot operating brain and integration suite that powers a growing library of production-ready skills. Built on foundation models that combine vision, language, and action understanding, Acteris enables intuitive, scalable automation while keeping deployments repeatable through trusted partners.

To advance embodied intelligence, we operate T-Labs, our dedicated R&D engine for robotic skill development and validation. Together, Acteris and T-Labs enable software-defined automation that delivers unprecedented adaptability on the factory floor.

My career has revolved around software frameworks for haptics and robotics. I am the founder of T-robotics, a company that trains AI skills for robots using end-to-end neural networks and constraint-based programming. Instead of general purpose models, that promise to make the robot do anything, we create specific purpose models that are small and agile and make robots great in a certain domain. These skills allow commercially available robots to fail less, perform complex tasks, and program easily.

I am currently based in San Francisco, CA where T-robotics is headquartered. Previously, I have served as a robotics researcher at ByteDance Inc., Vicarious Inc. (acquired by Google), and Flanders Make. My research on haptics got the best Ph.D. award from the Italian Society of Researchers in Automatic Control (SIDRA). My subsequent research at Flanders Make on robot coworkers resulted in selection by EU as one of 15 Next Generation Innovators.
